I wish he had more recent NFL experience, but his track record with QBs is phenomenal as he holds them very accountable, something Cutler needs desperately. I also REALLY like that he's bringing Aaron Kromer from the Saints as the OC as his style really should play to the strengths of the players we have, especially Fortes ability to catch out of the backfield.
While I do think Lovie gets the players to buy into his system, you have to question some of the hires. Getting Marinelli was a good move, but on the offensive side of the ball we've been stuck in reverse for too longs. We are talented, we just aren't well coached. Special teams is another area that used to differentiate us and give us an edge that we have lost in recent years. I like Lovie a lot, but championship rosters only come around so often and we have to capitalize on them with quality leadership and I think we have a championship caliber roster right now, but it's aging quickly. less
We’re nine years into Lovie Smith’s tenure with the Bears. For nine years, we’ve blankly watched Smith blankly watch football games from the Bears’ sidelines.
I was worried about Kaepernick, but this is unacceptable. How could we be this unprepared. Shame on the o-line, what else is new, but shame on the D as well. How the hell are we gonna dig out from a 20 point hole. Terrible.
That was one hell of an outburst by the offense, proving once again that a balanced attack is the most effective attack. Not only passing and rushing, but we're starting to see a harmony between offense and defense, one setting up the other. This team has a ton of potential and I'm excited to see how we handle the next two weeks against Houston & San Fran.
JW07 It's amazing what can happen when the Tennessee Titans come to town, allowing over 34 points per game.

I didn't see them give up 50+ to the Patriots, Steelers, Texans etc... For an offense that's been much maligned, it was nice to see them show flashes of what we thought this thing could do when we committed to complimenting the running game with a passing attack before the season started. Maybe Mike Tice isn't as big an idiot as everyone else thinks he is. Maybe he should get some sort of credit from putting these pieces together behind a makeshift offensive line and getting better every week. less
The field could play a huge factor tonight, Chicago has received a lot of rain and that field has never been "great". I think this just favors the Bears even more.
I have very high expectations coming off the bye against the Lions tonight. I think a balanced attack is key and I would hope Tice has a good game plan ready to go. I think a balanced attack is key and I would hope Tice has a good game plan ready to go. Let's hope the D can hold their passing attack down to ensure we can execute the strategy according to plan. It's going to be a great test for the combination of our front line and secondary to try and disrupt their timing and force them into making mistakes. Bear down!
